For most categories, eBay charges a final value fee of 13.6% on the total sale amount up to $7,500, and 2.35% on any amount above that. The total includes the item price and shipping. eBay also charges a per-order fee of $0.40, or $0.30 when the order is $10 or less.
Some categories use different rates, so check eBay's fee page for yours and change the rate above. If you use Promoted Listings, the ad rate you choose is charged on the total sale when a promoted item sells.
Questions sellers ask
How much does eBay take from a $50 sale?
In most categories, 13.6% of $50 is $6.80, plus the $0.40 per-order fee, for $7.20 in total.
Does eBay charge fees on shipping?
Yes. The final value fee is charged on the total amount of the sale, which includes shipping and handling.
Do I still pay insertion fees?
Most sellers get a monthly allowance of free listings. Insertion fees only apply once you go past it, so this calculator leaves them out.
